How does the rental process work?

Each project is unique so we find that tailoring each rental to your project is best. Browse our available housings, decide on the rental dates you need, and send us a message to confirm the details. Your housing will be shipped/delivered to you or can be picked up in person if available.

How long can I rent a housing for?

We offer daily, weekly, and custom rental periods. If you need an extension, please contact us before your rental period ends.

Can I extend my rental period?

Yes! If the housing is not already booked by another customer, you can extend your rental for an additional fee.

Do you ship rentals, or is local pickup available?

We offer both shipping and local pickup. Shipping fees and estimated delivery times will be displayed at checkout.

Do you offer international rentals?

Currently, we do not ship internationally, but you can take the housing with you on an international trip.

What camera models do your housings support?

We offer housings for a variety of cinema, DSLR, mirrorless, and action cameras. You can check compatibility on each product page or contact us for assistance.

Do I need experience using underwater housings?

Not necessarily! We provide setup guides and are here to help with any questions you might run into. For the cinema housings, we advise hiring one of our technicians that can assist you with setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown on set, giving you peace of mind that any problems will be dealt with swiftly. If you choose to hire the housing without a technician, we are happy to assist on a prep day and provide support during your rental, but we can’t provide the same level of support as if we were present with the housing.

Do you have options for underwater operators or DP’s?

Yes! We have a list of talented individuals depending on what you’re looking for, send us a message with the details and we can connect you.

How should I maintain the housing during my rental?

Always rinse with fresh water after use, especially after saltwater dives. Store it in a dry place and avoid exposing it to direct sunlight for long periods. Cover the housing with a towel or bring it to a shaded area while not in use. Otherwise, you may end up getting some fogging on the dome/port.

What if I encounter a leak underwater?

Stop using the housing immediately, surface safely, and remove the camera from the housing as soon as possible. If you can identify the leak, fix the problem and you can carry on with filming. Our housings should be pressure-tested before every dive, the Nauticam housings have an LED leak detector and should show a green light before entering the water. The Gates housings should also be vacuumed and measured again a few minutes later (vacuum pump and seal check included with every rental) to ensure a proper seal. The MantisSub housing will also show an LED indicator that it is holding vacuum.

Do I need to lubricate the O-rings?

For the most part, yes! Proper O-ring maintenance is crucial for a watertight seal. Use the silicone grease provided, but do not over-lubricate. The only O-rings to not lubricate are the orange O-rings in the Gates housings as they can absorb the lubricant, dry out, and crack.

What happens if I damage the housing?

You are responsible for any damage during the rental period and we require that all equipment is covered under your production insurance while the housing is in your possession. If the housing is returned damaged, repair fees will apply.

Do you offer insurance for rentals?

At the moment, no, but we may in the future. Athos is a good option with short term rental policies.

What if my rental arrives damaged or is missing parts?

Please inspect your rental upon arrival. If there is an issue, notify us immediately so we can send a replacement or resolve the problem.

Can I cancel my rental?

Yes, but cancellation fees may apply. Please check our cancellation policy for details.

Do you offer discounts for longer rentals or multiple items?

Yes! We provide discounted rates for extended rentals and bulk orders. Contact us for custom pricing.
